Bill Gates Pouring Billions Into The Nuke Biz. Scary.

I guess like Bill Gates as much as the next guy. I mean the guy is giving away money left and right to worthy causes. Small price to pay for unleashing Windows on a zillion or so unsuspecting computer users. (said the Mac Guy).

But this latest venture has me a bit puzzled. He’s apparently entering into a deal with Toshiba to build small nukes, which are evidently all the rage these days in right wing energy circles. And it looks like he’s going to be dishing over about $7 Billion smackers to the cause. I don’t know about you, but when I found out about that all I could think of was what an injection of $7 Billion could do  for an industry that doesn’t produce radioactive waste. Like solar, or wind or geothermal.

Anyway, I thought I’d post this link, even if only to inform you of what the world’s richest nerd is throwing his money and his not inconsiderable influence behind these days. You’ll probably be hearing more about it in the days to come. Good luck, Bill. Let’s hope this doesn’t melt down in your face. http://tinyurl.com/yzxeksa
